Kaitlyn Herzog is a journalist in Milwaukee. She entered the world of news in February 2020 as a digital reporter for WITI - FOX6 Milwaukee. Those plans shifted as the world quickly changed before our eyes.
Pivoting, she became a digital producer to help the award-winning digital team maintain its #1 spot amongst the local competition, becoming a Top 5 digital team within FOX Television Stations. Her expertise in social media strategy helped leverage the team.
From writing, curating and pitching the latest breaking news on the COVID-19 pandemic to the twists and turns of the 2020 election and social justice movements — there wasn’t a shortage of news to be covered in 2020. Those curveballs taught her she can handle stressful situations more than she ever thought she could.
She’s a two-time finalist for regional SPJs in investigative reporting, a Milwaukee Press Club gold winner, and took home first-place Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Wisconsin Newspaper Association awards. She was also a finalist for a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences scholarship.
Prior to working in television news, she worked for seven years in the realm of public relations and content strategy writing for consumer brands, global tourism and higher education.
